is he is not a dynamic personality. More of a determined and organized tactician in my mind. I think SMU needs a personality guy. On the other hand, we could do worse.

The one thing we need is organization and infrastructure. His name and reputation -- if he even is in the mix -- should carry itself.

He was dynamic enough to win at TCU and lest we remember that TCU was a real stinkhole when he came in. Add that to selling himself to Alabama and then to the Aggies... add the fact he got that aggies sold they could beat Texas last weekend...
Heck the guy is dynamic enough for me.

I think dynamic personalities are overrated. Bennett had a dynamic personality. Means a lot for an initial media splash, but not much else. Fran has had no problem recruiting, anywhere he has been.

Georgia Tech got rid of Chan because, among other reasons, he did not have a personality that excited folks in the community.

Hoop Fan.....yeah Fran may not be a dynamic personality, but obviously he knows how to have some degree of success at this game. I hear what you are saying and agree.....I really like a guy that can be that dynamic salesman, but ya know....how many of these guys are really that way? I mean look at Joe Paterno, Mack Brown, Leach, Tom Osborne, Tommy Bowden, Spurrier, they aren't exactly "life of the party" glad handing dynamic people. They are great generals with most likelyy dynamic assistants that may be dynamic recruiters. So yes the great smiling salesman can be an asset, but hey very few have it all.
