Joe Schad of ESPN threw Leach into the Arkansas mix along with Raiders coach Lane Kiffin and somebody else I missed.

What kind of a statement does it make about Waco that they are meeting in Dallas to discuss the Baylor job? I think it epitomizes the Baptist Order of the Wilderness Extension of Lost Souls (BOWELS)stranded between Austin and Dallas.
I guess they can say, "Art, come to Baylor and the drive to Dallas will be shorter than the drive from Houston."

I think Art is trying to get a pay raise out of Cooger High.

Most likely there is another nuclear test in Waco scheduled during the time of Briles' interview. What else is Waco good for, anyway?

Word out of the Bayou City and Cougar High fans is that Briles is headed to the Baylor gig while Troy HC Larry Blakeney wants the UofH job.

Baylor had a Dallas ad agency do its publicity/season ticket campaign a couple of years ago...

If Leach would dry out (that's the rumor I've been hearing for years) he could have practically any job he wants. Even my friends in Lubbock talk about it. He is one D coordinator away from having an excellent team.

Briles to Baylor would be great for them. I love to watch his teams but just like his mentor his Ds are weak. He has to fix that to compete in the Big 12.

UH: Baylor made no coaching offer to Briles yet
By MICHAEL MURPHY

Art Briles flew to Dallas Tuesday to discuss the vacant head coaching position at Baylor University.
According to University of Houston athletics director Dave Maggard, who spoke with Briles after his meeting with Baylor athletic director Ian McCaw, no formal offer had been made and no real contract details were discussed.
“I spoke with Art (early Tuesday afternoon) and he indicated that he had met with the Baylor people and that he had not been offered,â€

Wonder if that's accurate. Talked to a friend today who's parents are big Baylor donors, and they told him Briles DID get offered at Baylor High. Big money, too.
