Coaching upgrade

If we end up getting Nutt, Fran, Shula, Gailey, Bowden, Barnett... isn't every single one of these guys a huge upgrade from Bennett?
all of these guys have head coaching experience and have coached at big programs. they all have some period of winning with their respective teams.
the way i see it, while i really like some of these guys and dislike others, all of these bigger name guys are HUGE upgrades from what we've had the last few years. Any one of these guys would give pony nation some glimmer of hope.
can't wait to hear the news (hopefully sooner than later)

I agree with you. I like Fran the least of all of those names but i would still be very glad for smu if we hired him. Like him or hate him, he's still a recognizable name from a big school and definitely a huge upgrade.

To me,
Fran would be the best choice just because he has been recruiting heavily in Texas the last few years and has to have made some serious contacts and in roads.
I also like the the situation.....he took over a 1 win TCU team and took them forward to where they are now....
He now gets a chance to do the same thing to our 1 win team.....

And just what type of offense would he run here? He's as unimaginative[and bullheaded]as they come. Unless Orsini gets a promise from him to be flexible with his offense and defensive schemes he is not the answer here or elsewhere. Plus the quality of his assistants has been questionable for years.
