Yeah, that whole thing sounds strange. He had two break-ins prior to that one. Me thinks that someone knew exactly what they were doing and that robbery was never the motive. After all, nothing was taken from the home. On that note, it's sad to see someone die so young and entering the prime of his career. May he Rest In Peace.

Yeah, if your goal is robbery then you break in when nobody is home and you have time to take what you are after, which is why they are usually done during the day. Also, if you are trying to rob someone at night when they are home, you would sneek in take the stuff and sneek out. Thus the name "cat burgler".
