[quoteUnfortunately, no mention of SMU.[/quote]

Of course, SMU is a step down from the Navy job, he's going to a BCS school if he leaves.

Go Navy! Go Paul Johnson!

I think he could be a good fit for us.

Unfortunately, DC, you may be correct

He would be great if we can get him.

Media darling-AD's nitemare. Notice he hasn't gotten that Nebraska interview. He will mysteriously drop off the list of other jobs the media wants to tie him too. The Media doesn't know what the hell they are talking about.. I don't think he can get a quality BCS level job.

Maybe right now it is, but it won't be for long if we get the right coach.

thats an old article now...he's not coming to SMU. he already gets paid $1.5 million when adjusted for his benefits....and SMU is willing to pay $1.5 mil to a new coach. no way he jumps ship from a prestigous institution to SMU for the same pay...no way.

Navy is honestly one of the best jobs in the country. The gig pays well and Annapolis is a great place to live, especially during the summer.

The program has a national profile and is on national TV at least twice a year with the ND and Army games, some years the Midshipmen are on national TV more than twice. And even though it's CSTV, all their games are on cable.

The program also has incredible alumni support. And even though PJ has considerable recruiting restricitions for the most he doesn't have to deal with players or recruits with disciplinary problems. He's also got the prep school to build depth. PJ can can win 7-8 games a year and go to the San Diego Bowl for the next 10-15 years and the brigade will build a statue of him in the middle of Annapolis.
