todays rumor.....

after the players meeting yesterday and
after Orsini's appearance at last night's basketball game
the latest name to re-surface is Todd Graham.
(he still has one game left to coach this weekend)
Sure it won't be easy to lure him from Tulsa,
but usually good things don't come easy.
But if you don't at least try, you can be
sure it won't happen.
Todd Graham:
From Mesquite, Texas
all-state defensive back at North Mesquite High School
signed as a free agent with the NFL's St. Louis Cardinals
Asst Coach Poteet High School in Mesquite 1988-1990
Head Coach Allen, Texas High School 1995-2000
2003 hired by Steve Kragthorpe as the defensive coordinator at Tulsa
2006 Head coach @ Rice - Took Rice to first bowl game in years
2007 Krag leaves Tulsa for Memphis, Graham returns to coach Tulsa
Conference USA experience
Proven winner - Bowl experience
Rising Star, on the way up, not down.
No baggage, not been fired or scandals
HC experience
Knows Dallas/Texas/OK area recruiting
Young (born 1964) energetic guy
Says his favorite book is the Bible (should get Turner's blessing)
If Graham comes to SMU, his good friend and asst coach at Tulsa
Gus Malzahn will most likely take over Tulsa, but if he doesn't
SMU might get a "two-fer" and get Gus Malzahn for a year or
two before Gus gets his first HC gig.
Graham has twice helped programs make the best turnarounds
in Division I-A. West Virginia improved from 3-8 to 9-4 in 2002,
his first season as co-defensive coordinator under Rich Rodriguez.
Tulsa improved from 1-11 to 8-4 in 2003 with Graham serving as
Steve Kragthorpe's assistant head coach and defensive coordinator.
Not to mention the Rice one year turn-around.
SMU could probably pay Graham more
Graham gets to return home to the metroplex.
More money, move home, better stadium
Dallas vs Tulsa?.......lol......come on
I think Orsini should have this guy on his final list.
