This is getting absolutely ridiculous. We were one of the first, if not the first school in America to announce the firing of our head football coach and begin the search process. We have now seen yet another coach (Briles) get hired by a school that started the process much longer than we have.
This is concerning. This shows what a struggle it is to secure a quality coach because of the history of SMU Football and the current state of our program.
I don't know about you guys, but I am becoming increasingly worried about the quality of coach we hire. This hire is the most important hire, in my opinion, since the death penalty. This is the absolute last chance for this ship to be turned in the right direction.
As a player, you always look at the schedule to find that game that is a secured win. Unfortunately, we are that team that other looks at. I am tired of that .
Orsini, we need to hear something soon or your the amount of doubt about the history of this program will continue to exponentially grow!

I will respond to my own posting.
I am just dissapointed that nothing has happened yet. I am not becoming less of a fan, just simple frustration that I can't look forward to next year yet!

Relax. The information from the team meeting suggests the top candidate still has a game left. We'll know a lot more in a week.
Back off Warchild seriously.

A week. I guess after 18 years, and with no other option available, waiting will have to do.
But I don't like it.

At this point, it better not still be a CANDIDATE, it better be a done deal, just waiting to put on the SMU hat in front of a camera. We had better not find out we missed out on some one better.

Orsini was at the BBall game last night (which we won). If we were still searching, he would be elsewhere.
As others have stated, this is a done deal and announcement has to wait until after the new coaches final game.

Regardless of recent PCs at other schools, maybe there is a very good reason the new SMU coach has not yet been officially named...

I still don't understand the "has a game left" BS. What does that have to do with anything? Briles had a game left and so did Nutt. Most good candidates have at least one game left but that never stops them from making a change.

I hate to say it, but at some point we have to be honest. With all the prime, big $ job openings happening this season, and given our situation, does Orsini have any other choice but to just wait in line? Not saying he doesn't already "have his man," or saying that's what he's having to do. But it wouldn't surprise me if he was just having to wait to see who falls through the cracks.

Yea - Shhhhh. Urban Meyer will be announced right after Florida plays in the Capital One Bowl in a month. Some of you people are so delusional.
As I have told you before, we are waiting for the scraps from the table to fall. ORSINI DOES NOT "HAVE HIS MAN" whatever that is supposed to mean. NEVER DID!
When will you listen - Haven't you learned? - I have not been wrong.
