was just saying how Paul Johnson would be a great
fit for S.M.U. and how he turned Navy around they
had won only one game in two years and his first
year they won only two games but after that
it was 10,8,9 win seasons.

Just giving you a hard time - I thought it was nice to get some airtime FOR ONCE. Hard sell there on P Johnson, just concerned on recruiting. Your take?

Would much rather have (in no particular order):
Gailey
Bower
Bowden
Barnett
Fran (barely ... and I think I just made myself sick)
Cristensen
Gill
O'Leary
and nearly every other coach who has been thrown out there who's not named Kragthorpe

We have the best stadium ever, a better city, a better campus, better women, AND students who are willing to get out there and make a play when the team cant. WHY would he go to GT?

Oh Come on. You can't be serious. But they won't offer-they are looking for the opposite after Chan Gailey. They want to excite recruits not put them to sleep. Watch all BCS teams except hopefully Duke back off Johnson and we get stuck with this monumental mistake. Ask yourself why all these BCS schools aways back off their Johnson. He's been mentioned with thousands of schools-they all choose another route

STAL - dont go back and edit posts once people reply. Oh wait, thats what you do - always making the board and the words work for you.

I am afraid Paul Johnson won't be able to recruit to SMU. If we hire someone like him with the perception that he is a winner at Navy and he fails at SMU good luck getting anyone to come here next. The caveat with him, as Stallion has repeatedly argued, is that he gets special concessions in recruiting at Navy because it is a service academy.
