Just as we feared (those of us who want Paul Johnson, that is), we're hearing that he is headed to Georgia Tech as early as Tuesday. No details on the contract, but it is a pretty easy decision, unfortunately.
Johnson goes to Atlanta, where he is known from his dominant Georgia Southern days, inherits a 7-5 team with Tashard Choice coming back, and will be coaching in the ACC.
Let's hope perhaps UConn's Randy Edsall blew them away in his interview Friday and there is a different decision at Ga. Tech.
So, if this is the case -- and we believe it is -- who does the Mustang brass turn to? Bowden, Barnett, Coker, Mason, Neuheisel? Who knows. But, aside from those mentioned, there are good coaches out there and you'd think Steve Orsini knows how to get one to The Hilltop.

recruiting a coach at SMU is looking a lot like recruiting players has gone in the last 20 years
we will eventually land someone who does not currently have better options
Regardless of who the new coach turns out to be, I suspect he will fare better than Bennett did

Why Because I don't want a certain candidate. At least I back my argument up with a factual argument. Everybody on here has favorites and those they don't like. I'm one of the few to give the reasons I don't want him instead of shouting BOWDEN BOWDEN BOWDEN or some other stupid casual reason.
