How can it be?That PJ is surely coming to be our coach with no permission even to talk to him? How can deals be done legally, without permission to talk with him. Some things can be found out before getting permission but can an agreement be made...this could be tampering if such an arrangement was made by Orsini. Or, could this have been used to keep our minds off a coach that we might really be going after? Seems like we might have gone too far without permission for this to be so real. I am just as curious as many of you. I still think it would be nice to wake Tuesday morning to hear that coach K of Louisville will be announced as our new coach in a news conference that afternoon!!! Go Mustangs!!!
I think schools (or their search firms) draw up formal proposals with the agent to be presented (for approval or not) to the coach. I presume Johnson will now decide whether to accept SMU's offer
"It appears Johnson will find out today what deals are on the table. The Capital has learned from multiple sources that Johnson will fly to Atlanta today to meet with Jack Reale, his agent. Duke and SMU are believed set to make formal offers to Johnson. Numerous outlets reported yesterday that Nebraska will hire LSU defensive coordinator Bo Pelini." http://www.hometownannapolis.com/cgi-bi ... _02-33/NAS http://www.baltimoresun.com/sports/bal- ... ports_util
yea, there's too much money to be made and too much opportunity to ignore ![]()
I admit to PJ not being my first choice, but it does frustrate the crap out of me that another school, particularly a school in a BCS conference, could beat SMU out on him.
"Moderation in all things, and especially in Absoluts [vodka]." The Benediction, Doc Breeden, circa 1992
Very interesting stuff from the Wake Forest board! Paul Johnson has HUGE respect around the country.
The Capital News, is reporting that Paul Johnson is meeting with his agent in Atlanta today. Folks from the Navy site think it will come down to SMU and Duke. The mob boss might tell Paul, how his 14 year old daughter would love the Highland Park schools.
