Duke still looking. . . .

Postby Pony^ » Tue Dec 04, 2007 3:22 pm

Just read this about the Grambling State coach on The News & Observer Web Site.
It was posted 11:59 a.m. today.
(I would have linked it, but it's hard to read on their site.)

Grambling State head coach Rod Broadway arrived at Raleigh-Durham International Airport late this morning and left in the company of Mike Sobb, Duke's assistant athletics director of marketing.
When asked if he was here to interview for the Duke football job, Broadway said he was "just taking care of some business here."
Broadway played at North Carolina and worked as an assistant at Duke, Florida, East Carolina and UNC. After being fired at UNC, Broadway became the head coach at N.C. Central and led the Eagles to back-to-back CIAA championships and a perfect regular season finish before leaving for Grambling earlier this year.
On Monday, Duke spoke with Navy coach Paul Johnson about the football vacancy.

When these articles say spoke, do they mean they met in person or talked on the phone? Seems like a lot of flights for Johnson to be on in thr last two days...

Did Johnson travel to GT or Duke???

Thanks!! I really like our chances against Duke. Duke's AD goes to PJ while PJ (and wife) are flown to SMU...

I may be reading into this but, seems SMU would have the upper hand when they are flying him and his wife to SMU as opposed to a side meeting in Maryland...
