Pulling for you guys....

Let me start by saying I'm not an SMU fan, Georgia Tech fan, or Duke fan.
I am a football fan, and I fan of Paul Johnson. the day Navy hired him I ordered Navy hats, shirts, etc. and if he leaves Navy, I'll probably do the same this go round.
When this all started, I was hoping Coach Johnson would either stay at Navy or take the GT job to prove his system works in the BCS conferences like he said it would.
However, the GT board is full of fans who would rather lose pretty than win with the triple option.
SMU and Duke fans seem to understand that Johnson wins....period. Yes, if he gets the job, he will run the triple option...and he will win. At SMU, he can have the at the top of Conf. USA in 2-3 years, but if you want someone who is going to put the football in the air to please boosters, Johnson's not your guy. If you want someone like Les Miles who gives these goofy, passionate press conferences, he's not your guy.
But if you want to win and don't care how it gets done, Johnson's the absolute best at it. Nobody could win a Navy like he's won there (6 CIC trophies...school record).
I get tired of people saying they don't want Johnson because they'll "lose 5-star recruits". Who needs them? He's been winning with 0 and 1 star recruits at Navy. So what if the primadonna pocket passer doesn't want to come? How many pocket passers win games by themselves? I'd rather have a team that plays like a TEAM than a team of "all-star" that are more worried about what round they'll go in than what the score is. Those kinds of players can't play for Johnson.
He won at Georgia Southern under Erk Russell (85 and 86 National Championships...QB Tracy Ham was as deadly a thrower as a runner), he won at Hawaii under Bob Wagner (Hawaii 9-3 in 88, 9-3-1 in 89, 11-2 in 92), won as head coach at Georgia Southern (National Championships in 1999, 2000, 1999 team averaged 49.8 points per game, including 59 points in the championship game vs. Jim Tressel) and he has won at Navy.
I hope SMU gets him, because after reading this board for the last week, I think you guys are hungry for a winning program, and would appreciate the turnaround you would experience.
Good luck.
