Why Would DMN run story on Johnson being on the Hilltop ?

1. Was this leaked from a SMU source as a smokescreen as Steve O is chasing someone else ?
2. If this is legit, why leak this unless we got him and this is to let the Dukies and GTers to back off ?
3. Kate read the board and needed a story ?

Why would they care what effect it has on SMU and the coaching search? They are a newspaper that is supposed to report the news...

Why wouldn't they run it?
If they have information from what they consider a credible source, isn't it the DMN's job to run such nuggets?

Probably 3. or someone emailed her asking her about it yesterday. she was at love field last night FWIW. (didn't see anything though)
