From what I understand, SMU is having a board meeting right now. Some saw the board members pulling up to the school. The scheduled quarterly meeting is not until Thursday.

Executive committee...always meets before the General Board Meeting to tweak agenda items.

If O or Turner has extended an offer, and it's been accepted, then there could be an emergency meeting with a quorum of Board members in order to bless a deal. If the Board authorized Turner and Orsini to hire without Board authority on this (is possible, but given SMU's history, unlikely), then this could be a meet and greet? (Surely not...I thought the guy was going home today at 1:15pm).

It could be a search committee (which is ad hoc board committee) or athletic committee meeting on the issue as well.

why the new ID? try putting in your sig who you were so that we have a point of reference, otherwise, it says you joined today, so that's all we've got to go on.
