Summary of what I have been able to track down tonight:
No one can confirm the where abouts of one Paul Johnson. As reported earlier, I have heard that he may have remained in Dallas. I now think that this is unlikely. However, contacts in Annapolis area have not been able to say that he is there with any certainty. As for media reports that PJ is now in Atlanta, this is a logical scenario given that SMU has made an offer and continues its efforts to close. An atlanta trip would allow for both a sit down with his agent and Georgia Tech officials. Although I believe it is unlikely he will end up there, the GT scenario could make depending on their offer, or serve as leverage back in Dallas.
Duke is effectively out of the running for Johnson. Move on, Bluedevils.
Non media sources in Houston who are close to the effort tell me that Orsini can be quoted as saying today that we do not, yet, have our man. Take it for what it's worth, the negotiating continues...

who is Plan B? You make this sound like a pure money thing with Johnson. What are the other issues? Something ain't right. At some point Orsini has to move on.

How can 100% attention be on Plan A? That simply would be foolish. No AD would do that unless he was misled.

Firephil, why did you delete the post saying 100% attention was focused on Plan A?

Darth thinks that is why the coach express is parked in Miami tonight.

I can't imagine he would go to Atlanta again. He was there Sunday to see his agent. He could have made the GT talks on Sunday, Duke Monday morning, SMU Monday evening/Tuesday morning. Flies back to Baltimore today and mulls over the decision for 24 hours or so. Finishes things up at Navy if he decides to come, and we get a press conference by the end of the week.

Preserving my posts left till 1000 - didnt think you had read it. anyway, my statement about the 100% means that they are intensely focused on Paul Johnson right now. Do they have other irons in the fire? ABSOLUTELY. But PJ is the #1 and they are working to get this done.

And his dad was in Baltimore last night for the Ravens game. Maybe they shuttled Don to Miami and then Mike to Dallas.

If the Navy people are right about PJ being in Atlanta, PJ's wife could have gone back to BWI wihout him and PJ could have taken a flight to Atlanta from Dallas.
Don't know if anything like this happened, just pointing out the possibility.

this would make our strategically parked plane (miami) in perfect position to "drop by" and pick him up tomorrow on the way back to Dallas! Can you say HEISMAN????????
