Mason or Fran

Postby Nacho » Thu Dec 06, 2007 9:38 am

I'm going with Fran and all his Texas connections.

Mason as the dark horse because he has a rep as someone who can rebuild programs also.

I really don't want Fran. Don't need someone that has one foot out of the door before he starts.

What about Gailey, Mike Shula or Neuheisel? Not to mention Bowden and Barnett.

Shula and Gailey ok. Others have baggage. We are as pure as the driven snow here.

I will let the ticket office know that a seat may be open for next year. Keep us informed.

Although I could be very happy with Fran I think those letters to the NCAA on violations surrounding the email deal would knock him out of our consideration. We shall see.

I bet you would change your mind, if he had SMU winning 8-9-10 games a year though.

Sorry but this isn't the Big 12 we're talking about. Even Fran could win in a league with as much parity as this one.

I vote for Nacho, or his close relative Burrito and Taco.
I would rather have Fran than Mason, Mason is boring, although we could all have Mason Jars of Bourbon or something, that would be a good promotion.

Agree with this sentiment. Before you start talking about what a savior Mason is, understand that this guy gets the urge to move more than Fran. Either one would be a good coach, but we have to accept that any good coach that is coming here is going to take this job as a means to potentially jump much bigger. Kragthorpe took turning around Tulsa to a big time BCS job with a preseason top 10 program. If someone were to come in here and win the C-USA title, knowing our history, their perception as a king program builder would be through the roof.
