DEADLINE TO DECIDE?

Orsini must have given PJ a deadline to decide to accept the job. I cannot imagine this thing going on much longer without a decision. If there is not a decision by the end of the week, then I assume that PJ is holding out for a better offer from Navy, Duke, or Ga. Tech and is NOT interested in the SMU job. I also would imagine Orsini already has a Plan B if PJ turns down the SMU job. I hope Orsini and the search firm are working the phones now.

I bet you're exactly right - that a deadline is in place and that Steve-O already is working on Plan B. I've only met Steve-O a couple of times, and the conversations were very brief, but he didn't strike me as a guy who was interested in twisting in the wind. Methinks he gives (or already has given) PJ a "put up or shut up soon" edict.

If PJ falls through it is not the 'end of the world' by any means. Orsini simply goes to the other highly qualified candiates. Most of the rumored names are proven winners with name recognition. We cannot do much worse that the results we got under Bennett's coaching tenure....a winless season and a 1 win season....come on.....there is light at the end of this road.

and if he does end up going with plan B, he will say that it was plan A all along, and that he got a chuckle out of all the wild speculation and rumors about the "fake" plan A

They're taking the day off. In fact, could be going to Camp David with Bush. They deserve a weekend. Re-charge the batteries. Up and at'em on Monday.

sounds like PJ has been given a deadline, but if he says yes we then have to work out the details-is that at about right?
