How long does Johnson get to leave SMU (& others) twisting?

I can understand him taking any of his options, but I can't understand him sitting paralyzed in his office letting all of his offerees twist in the wind.
I very much wanted him to accept when we apparently offered. But the more time he spends apparently shopping SMU's offer, the less I like him. (Don't get me wrong -- shopping for better offers is fine, but there should be a put-up-or-shut-up point as well.)

The timeline is his, not ours, despite the importance of getting into recruiting mode as soon as possible.
Remember, he coached his team in the big game just six days ago. I imagine his wife needs to time to process with him everything going on.
The fact that we are competitive with an ACC (BCS) School is impressive, regardless of the outcome (I would love for PJ to accept, BTW).
I can see University Park is attractive, but Georgia has great appeal I am sure. And, Steve Orsini probably has another card to play, so now is the time.

enough already. Let's give him today and then move on if it hasn't been resolved

Little birdie says no resolution is forthcoming today and probably not this weekend. Monday possibly at the earliest so it appears we are going to wait for PJ to make a decision. 3 other candidates have been looked at but PJ is obviously who we want.........

Looks like the GT boards are saying the same things we are:
I don't really care too much at this point...I am tired of the delay on PJ's part....He needs to decide now what he wants to do & we should (maybe we have) drawn a line in the sand. 1. He either wants to coach & be competitive in that division (where ever that may be) 2. He wants to MAKE BIG $$$ and have less pressure to win & have someone pay for his and his assistants living expenses on top of their salary (he better stay at Navy if he wants it all)...and bring em all with him "no restrictions"...The longer this plays out the more I am WILLING TO PASS on him & say may the HIGH BIDDER win...
Personally I wouldn't want to lose Kelly, Smith & some of our other coaches just to pick up PJ...(not saying it's a sure thing we retain any of these coaches)....
PJ has drawn this whole thing out too long & will only get worse now that Duke's hand is in the cookie jar....I say hire Hatcher....bank some cash & let him go after BIG OC and promote G Smith....and we roll back out on the recruiting trail there's pleanty of unfinished business to be handled there as well....
all the delay & back in forth b/w the schools makes it look like the HC candidate is just stroking his ego..."who wants me more" or "who will pay me more" or "here's where I want to live & oh by the way you gonna pay for that too (and for all my assistants as well) & don't tell me they ALL can't come & make the same.....then JUST STAY AT NAVY if you've already got all those things & it's going to take such a "special offer" to get you to move b/c you're getting or have some kind of COMPLEX about how important you are...I want a HC who is excited about coming to GT & won't use multiple jobs to leverage raises or second guess our offer....

Sure sounds like that to me, too. I know he has a history with SO, but I would feel much better about his commitment if he wasn't "shopping" so much. If he ultimately does accept SMU, those other offers will always be in the back of his head...
