Looks like Johnson was "Kum and Go."
Edit:If you don't know...it's the name of a convenience store.

so utterly predictable, and predicted. It never made sense for Johnson to make a lateral move here. He was either staying at Navy or going to Tech. Duke and SMU were never realistic. It didn't take much common sense to see this.

I'll say it, I'm surprised. PJ must think a lot of himself to think that he can take a par ACC team and win enough right away to keep the mutinous GT fans at bay (ACC champ/UGA win every other year...or else!). Good luck. (not sarcasm) What this tells us (I think) is that GT was in the Top 10 of places that PJ ultimately wanted to end up coaching. I think either Duke or SMU would've been better springboard programs to move on to bigger programs like Pac10/Big12/Big10+1, if he wanted to do that more quickly. I personally think GT is going to cool his media praise a bit.

Well it wasn't a lateral move to SMU if we [deleted] away with money that no one else, including Navy, could come close to matching. GT a little surprisingly ponied up, if you'll forgive the term, and got their man. They can thank us for that high price tag.
