Orsini got played by PJ. So much for that friendship. Amazing several weeks into this coach search and only one confirmed report of one coach visiting the school. Not a good sign folks.

True true but hopefully Orsini wakes up and goes after the next guy with as much vigor. Only thing that would [deleted] me off right now is if he phoned in the rest fo the search

From the few times I have met Orsini, I can imagine this is not sitting well with him and he will have renewed vigor.

i really hope you're right. i guess its not so bad being the last team in the country looking for a coach because then we wont have any competition. but its hurting recruiting like crazy

Everyone says this is hurting recruiting but lets be honest even with a coach we weren't really burning up the recruiting trail.

I also bet Gerald Ford is pissed after spending all that money flying PJ to and from Dallas in his private jet. The interest must have been pretty serious for Gerald Ford to agree to spend the money to fly the guy and his wife out in his private jet.

I bet Steve-O has a long memory, and I bet the last time they played golf or met for drinks was the last time. I also bet that someday, someplace, Steve-O pays him back.

Yes but with a great new hire we would have an opportunity to possibly get some players who wouldn't consider SMU otherwise. That opportunity is fading with each passing day. Essentially it's not Paul Johnson's fault, it's SMUs fault for waiting this long to get an answer.
We should have had a new coach 2-4 weeks ago.

the fact is that no one knows whether Paul Johnson would be a good recruiter. Zero track record. The rationle seemed to be that he could waive magic pixie dust on sleepers and win with Coaching Magic.

What I can say is that your pictures on that other thread are nothing short of greatness. Keep up the fine work. The only complaint was Austin's Sandra Bullock -- overrated.

Orsini's not going to fall for the banana in the tailpipe? It should be more natural, brother. It shouldflow out, like this - "Look, man, Orsini ain't fallin' for no banana in my tailpipe!" See, that's more natural for us. You been hanging out with this dude too long.
