It feels to me that we will end up with Glen Mason or Chan Gailey. While both of them are HUGE upgrades over Bennett and Cavan, I don't know how I feel about them when we refused to consider Barnett or Bowden. A part of me is excited what Steve-O has done with this search and the fact we are going after proven winners and willing to pay them 2 million bucks a year. I stated it before but to me that is a major sign that we want to get back to winning. But then on the other side of things, the fact that we would not consider Barnett or Bowden make me think it is just the same old BS.

I'm sure Mason or Gailey will be successful and both could take us to a 6,7,8 win season and a bowl. But I feel Bowden or Barnett would get people excited about SMU and maybe one day have us knocking on the BCS door like Hawaii

Orsini is in a reults oriented business. As I have mentioned before, I will give him the benefit of the doubt until a decision is made. That said, the pursuit of Johnson means nothing to me. If he is unable to lure a good coach I could care less if he offered Belichick, Carroll, or Saban $10 million a year. Until he delivers it is all talk.

You are exactly right..... Read my No Chan Gailey post earlier today. I just can't believe these guys don't get this ???... But then again, we are talking about a school who trurned dowm former UT Coach Darrell Royal 50 yeasrs ago for someone named Bill Meek. Royal is now a living Legend and Bill Meek was fired after 4 seasons. So we have a history of getting coaches wrong....Man,I just hope these guys can reconsider and make the right hire, wait for a new name to surface.
