What the hell are we doing?

For the love of gawd, our recruiting for 2008 is about to go down the crapper. We are about to lose out on any meaningful JUCO's, our freshman recruits are withering on the vine and we're talking to ho-hum yawners from Air Force who turn us down outright?

Could you imagine if a week after Bennett was fired, we had hired Gary Barnett or Terry Bowden? What would our prospects for 2008 and beyond be looking like right now? A staff would be in place and things would be moving. Perhaps we might even be stealing some of TCU's hopefuls away from them. Instead, we are putting ourselves another year away from loserdom. And as was mentioned on Generation X, we could get back in the ballgame with the junior class, which is already handing out verbal commitments instead of waiting for their senior year. However, that can backfire as we found out with our former recruit and poster Wardog (Chris Hall) who backed out of his commitment to SMU and went with Texas.

You ask what we are doing, we don't know. We have not known in quite some time. We need to address how this can happen for 18-20 years. We haven't had a clue in years.

He is, but he still works for the University. He is not in charge, but I bet he was told coming in that he would be given full rein to do what he thought was best for the football program. Hope is to desire with expectation of fullfillment. We have been hoping for years. We need to start setting some ground work to rebuild this program. I say we start with someone in the HS/JUCO ranks and start the building process. Joey Florence for HC.

It was a stupid idea the first time you brought it up. It's still a stupid idea.

Stupid is what stupid does. UNT seenms to be okay with Dodge, as well as some on the board. Florence has a higher winning percentage than Dodge.
