I would go with Gary Barnett personally as he has turned around two programs in the past, and the fact that he hasn't been out of the game as long as Bowden. However, I believe either choice would be a great step compared to our choice of HC in the past.

If Barnett is hired now it will only prove that Steve Orsini is a bigger greenhorn than we all thought. Everyone would have a legitimate right to be mad at him then. He will not hire anyone he could have gotten 7 weeks ago because of this reason. Bank on it.

You might very well be right.

At what point are we going to want to see some legitimate indication that Barnett, Fran, Bowden, Neuheisal are even under consideration. If this weekend ends w/o such an indication its time to sober up because they should have been immediately contacted.

Orsini cannot hire Barnett or Bowden now. He will look like a fool. And I know he is not willing to do that.

Remember, he had to be the one to call Barnett this week to set up the interview so no way you are right........ Just for the record, who says it was Orsini who did not want Barnett in the first place ??? It could have been Turner or others.

So now Steve-O's pride will get in the way of making the right choice for SMU? That's pretty freakin' petty and makes him a much smaller AD in my eyes if that's true. Unfortunately, if it is true, we will never know it.

I think this is a really good point. What do think about the fact that list number one is exhausted and they are now on list number two that consists of people whom we could have already hired soon after we fired Bennett?....just a thought

You will know it when neither of those guys are hired and some less than stellar candidate is hired leaving us scratching our heads.

Hey biggin, if that happens then hats off to you, but I hope for the good of the team that things plays out differently than you expect.

i really don't understand why he's being so secretive about the search. hell, cooger high is publicly stating everyone they're interviewing
