Read second paragraph. I've never really understood this one anyway because he's had some very unflattering comments about SMU's Model anyway

Really? Have you ever heard a coach use the word "model?"
Neither has anyone else.
There's nothing in that story that suggests Jones should stay on or be removed from any list. Whether he's a legit candidate for SMU  who knows. All that says is Georgia is spewing the standard pre-bowlspeak about how "the opponent is really good."
Yawn.

Oh so the fact that June Jones got his top 3 players from the penal system fits SMU perfectly?

June Jones apparently decided to stay in Hawaii instead of going with QB Colt to the Heisman Award in NY. So he did not show up for the stated interview, in the Sporting News, in Dallas over the week end after the Heisman with SMU yet.

Well, here it is! June Jones opted not to attend the ceremony:

Kudos to Colt's absentee supporters
June Jones and quarterback coach Dan Morrison did a cool thing.
They both stepped aside to allow Colt Brennan to invite two other guests to Saturday's Heisman ceremony.
Each finalist receives 10 tickets into the actual room where the show will be shot.
Jones was a natural choice. But he opted to pass.
Also, Hawaii television reports JJ interviewing with UCLA and may have already done so last week:

Looks like this is one is not happening for us either. (I figured he was just bucking for a raise anyway.)

Why in the Wild World of Sports would anyone even consider that June Jones would be interested...
HE LOVES HAWAII, and LIVES IN HAWAII...he's not going anywhere..expecially after the Athletic Department uses that 4mm on their facilities..

.......Georgia is spewing the standard pre-bowlspeak about how "the opponent is really good."
Is that what Oklahoma said about Boise State?

If you're Colt Brennan, and Coach Jones doesn't go to the Heisman ceremony, aren't you insulted?
I would think so.

It says he skipped for Brennan's sake. Maybe he had to take a couple of parole officers.
