Feature story on the infamous 'snow plow' game between the Miami Dolphins and New England Patriots. Don Shula and Ron Meyer both interviewed as well as N.E. place kicker John Smith.
The 'snow plow' game was held on December 12, 1982 (25th anniversary today). Under heavy snow at Foxboro Stadium with 4:45 remaining in the game, the Patriots lined up for a go-ahead field goal. Meyer called for a stadium worker named Mark Henderson (who was on a prison work release) to drive his snowplow on the field in order to clear an area for holder Matt Cavanaugh to spot the ball and to give kicker John Smith better footing. The Patriots went on to win the game, 3-0, on their way to their first playoff appearance since the 1979 season.

I saw a documentary that talked about this several years ago.
Definitely worth seeing.

He had his faults, but Ron Meyer was an excellent football coach.

Meyer had the strongest offensive line SMU ever developed when he ran the pony express.

Ron Meyer is a god. I would give my left nut for him to teach me salesmanship for one hour. Even without paying the players, Ron could sell SMU to anybody.

Do they? There was a college team who cheated badly back in the '80s...

Actually, there were a LOT of them...the one in Dallas was the one stupid enough to get caught and then thumb its nose at the NCAA.
