Not true.

When Orsini hired O'leary at UCF he was the defensive coordinator for a Vikings team in the playoff hunt and it was announced on December the 8th. O'leary finished his duties just as Sherman(A&M) will for the Houston Texans.

The only time news of a coaching departure disrupts a NFL team is if it's the head coach(Petrino) and not assistants(Charlie Weiss).


In college things are different. If a college Head Coach announces his departure all h3ll breaks loose. The coach usually doesn't coach the bowl game(lo$es the bonu$ money) and the interim coach takes over. The clues are everywhere you guys just refuse to see them.

If it were an NFL assistant, Fran, Chan, Barnett, Bowden, or anyone else not coaching an upcoming bowl game the deal would have been done by now.

I love that you guys are assuming we have a deal with someone. Have you considered that the coaches timeline thing is just Steve-O's PR line? He may not have found anyone who wants this job that Turner will let him hire.

It also could mean that the candidates he is going after are being considered by other programs and they are considering multiple offers--forcing us onto their timeline. That would not necessarily mean we are getting a bad hire either. The leftovers from the Michigan/UCLA spoils wouldn't be too shabby for SMU. On the other hand, if we're battling Duke and Houston, we might be in trouble!

What did I do? Nobody sent me a private message, so I guess the admin just thought some insane person had got online and suggested TG. They put a stop to it.
