When I last looked, this link had a photo of 3 of our top award getters for FB in '07: Bonilla, Morstead & Sledge (congrats to all by the way).
The one common thread between them? All walk-ons.
The Bennett Boys couldn't recruit to save their a$$-- and that's why we're in the mess we're in today.
Thank you Copeland for that timely extension.

im sorry, but with all due respect to sledge, he was not our offensive mvp this year. he must have dropped 15+ passes that were pretty crucial this year, no?

im sure PB made the call on these awards, along with the players and its a somewhat "no brainer" call, especially with such a HORRIBLE year we had...
Moresteads - a NO BRAINER for sure
Sledge - PB kept him as a walk on, gave him a 'ship and he had a great year as a SENIOR...2nd most TD catches in a year and best ever for a SENIOR
Bonilla - hard to say way he was named MVP, especially after having a few mis-reads in coverage, he did lead the team in tackles...could have given it to Hurst but he wasnt here as long.
CONGRATS at all the award winners!

offense scored alot of points. Offenses can't stop the other team from scoring. For every long drive we went on, the opponent seemed to always counter. Willis, Sanders, Givens, Chase all make big contributions on offense. The real concerning part is why we cant seem to run the ball in CUSA.

Did you watch the Memphis game? Sledge had a tremendous performance. Poor coaching let us down, not a walk-on who played hard his whole career.

I vote Zack Sledge "most likely to have a comic book character based on him." The American Hero carries on....

Zack Sledge definitely deserved the team award. He had a great year compared to the rest of that team. And to the DUDE that said J-Will by default: Peruna deserves an award this year more then that guy. 18 picks and 98 fumbles does not deserve anything but 500 gassers and 1000 up downs. HOLD ON TO THE FOOTBALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
