"SMU

Early on I thought I had a feel for this job, I guess I don't. The one new name I heard was Norm Chow. If Norm doesn't get another head job look for SMU to possibly give him the shot he deserves at being a head coach. IF he is truly an option (like I am told) touchdown Orsini"

I would think that the name Norm Chow would create interest from several top QB recruits every year.

Norm Chow is expected to interview for the UCLA job. Given that it's in a BCS conference, and that he was at USC prior to going to the Titans, I think he'd prefer them over us.

The real question is if he gets offered that job.

Just a guess, but would bet Steve M. gets that job.

"UCLA is said to be considering several coaches and school officials are taking gradual steps toward making a hire, a source familiar with the search said. The process is expected to continue at least through next week.

During Chow's tenure as offensive coordinator, USC's offense flourished, quarterbacks Carson Palmer and Matt Leinart became Heisman Trophy winners, and the team won two national titles.

Chow has also been credited with the quick transition Titans' quarterback Vince Young made from college to the NFL as a rookie last season.

Chow makes about $1 million annually and is under contract for at least two more seasons, though the Titans are not expected to stand in his way should he get a job offer."

"USC offensive coordinator Norm Chow officially withdrew from consideration for the Southern Methodist University head-coaching position Sunday. He was one of three finalists for the position.

``I was very flattered they would call me, but there's still work to be done here at USC,'' Chow said.

SMU
athletic director Jim Copeland previously worked at Utah, which is Chow's alma mater. Copeland fired coach Mike Cavan
on Nov. 19 and aggressively pursued Chow, according to sources. "

Maybe Orsini and his big bag of money can be the difference maker this time.

I'd say his job is done over there.

Anything would be better than a gig on the NFL Network. Their game coverage is AWFUL!

Chow is 61. Think he's up for a rebuilding task such as what exists at SMU?

I know 60+ sounds ancient to most of you guys, but believe me, we still have some juice left in us...despite being 60+.
