i know that Orsini doesn't care what we think but he F'ING should. seriously, i have been apologizing and hoping for SMU football since i arrived on campus. i really thought that we were going to take a step in the right direction here, but alas, i'm fooled again. it looks we will end up taking they year off in 2008 (self death penalty) and seeing who is available in 2009.

i need a drink.

no kidding...after this long of a process, when great you have a pool of available candidates ready and willing??? this better be a great hire or there will be a large portion of the fan base extremely P.O.'d...

even more than they already are!!

If SMU Announced that they had hired Jerry Kill today, would that have made you feel better or worse?

Since we didn't hire Bowden or Barnett right out of the gate, and we lost out on St. Paul, the need for this hire to be huge grows and grows. Of course, Biggin could be right and we could be doomed.

But I'd rather live another day with the hope that this isn't going to just implode on us, than to wake up this morning to find out that Jerry Kill or Kevin Sumlin was our Head Coach. No disrespect to either of them, but I can still live in the delusion that we'll do better.

While I know it is the quite period, it almost seems Steve O is not to concerned to get a coach in here and start recruiting. Maybe he has given up on the recruiting season for this year. Who knows? :? :? :?:

Dan McCarney is still available. Northern Illinois was one of the schools looking at him and he was supposed to be visiting the campus this week as one of the last 2 finalist. Mac would be a great fit here. He's been getting looks from lots of other schools. It would be nice if he would show up on our radar.

What is that biblical verse? The first will be last?

If we squander all this time and end up hiring somebody we could have easily hired in November, I am going to be upset.

Revelations 22:13-4 (Alternate aramaic interpretation)

Knowst thou that [the southern desciples of The Way] will be the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end but blessed will they be that wait and ready themselves, who change their robes and do [the deliverer's] biddings, for He will lead them to taste from the tree of victory, so that they may enter in through the gates into a foreign city.

I think this is telling us that our next coach will get us to a bowl game...
