Then pull the trigger and let's start recruiting.

Who else is going to get him? There is no one left. No way Michigan or UCLA takes him. Only other school left is Duke, and that may be the only school Slick Rick didn't say he wanted to go to.

Slick Rick, Barnett, Bowden, Mason, and even Chow....great proven winners and name-recognized coaches by everyone in Texas and in America....do not understand the slow coaching search....

Interesting that Duke is starting a petition to interview Neuheisel...maybe we should start channeling some of our frustration in a way that unites the fans under one voice...
Hell, it can't hurt at this point. Doesn't appear that anyone else is being interviewed...
Bring in Slick Rick!

The apparent lack of interest in Neuheisal is probably the most puzzling. Of all the Coaches on the black list, he's the one who seemed to be the most exonerated (winning a judgment against UW on the subject).
I wonder if having a history of suing your employers creeps out the administration?

Yes and yes.
Suing your former employer is not good for anyone's resume, no matter what the job.
Yes, he has other baggage:
CU had to forfeit a season under him for fielding an ineligible player.
He also lied to his AD at UW about having an interview with the 49ers--another big problem in addition to suing him.
There was also a drug scandal at UW--I think it broke after he'd been canned, and I have no idea if he had any knowledge of it but it was ongoing during his years--where the team doctors were over-prescribing narcotics to athletes and they were selling them to students. (This one was an athletic department wide scandal, and mainly involved the team doctors, so I doubt he was implicated in it, but the FBI was even involved in this one.)

Since there is no information coming out of the AD's office, we are left to speculate about what is going in Orsini's mind. This is the image I get when I think about what could possibly going on inside his head.
[Over and over again Orsini keeps saying to himself: "What about Paul Johnson? No, he's taken....Paul Johnson? No, he is taken....What about Paul Johnson? Oh, yeah. No, he's taken....who can I get to coach this team?]

Just what lurcks in this guy's closet? What is the deal? He is the only person that has had anything positive to say about SMU--like Doh, we desperately need one another!

Since no one will talk we are left with speculation which may at times amuse the AD and at times not so much.
I am left to think there are 2 posssibilities:
--All this time is spent on due diligence of a coach with a hefty dose of baggage
--someone, say Del Rio really is a possibility
I can't come up with anything else that makes sense.

I would say it is more likely that we are waiting to hear from someone involved in the UCLA search if they don't get the job. (I would add Michigan to that, but who the hell knows what they're doing up there!)
