That says offered, not accepted. We "offered" Mr. Johnson last week, so we wouldn't be last in that respect. If we wanted a college coordinator or a coach that is currently unemployed, I think after 7+ weeks we would have obtained one.

A little sunshine never hurt anyone, it's too much it of it that will cause cancer.

Keep you hopes up...I think if we wanted Cutcliffe we would of had him. Twice. And then made him sleep on the couch.

No we didn't. We said "If I were to ask you out, would you accept?"

Thus, we never offered PJ.

Boy that isn't splitting hairs. That's saying hey, if we were to say offer you, 1.8 million to coach here, would you accept it? If he says yes, it's great I have an offer for you. If it's no, the offering party gets to save face, albeit very little.

Taken at a literal meaning, no we never officially offered Johnson. In every other sense of it, yes.

Don't know if anyone has posted this since it has been updated, but the Duke info looks pretty new. Says they interviewed Cutcliffe yesterday and Chan and Hue Jackson today.

SMU info has still not been updated since the beginning of November.

I suspected he was Turner's choice for coach with his Ole Miss pedigree. And he had to wait until the SEC championship game was over, but I agree, if he was our candidate, he would have been contacted, signed, sealed and delivered long ago.

The paper also says Cutcliffe will accept the position Friday. Cutcliffe has been Tennessee's offensive coordinator for two seasons. Before that he was head coach at University of Mississippi.

Tennessee offensive coordinator David Cutcliffe has been offered the head coaching position at Duke and is expected to accept the job, sources within UT’s football program told the News Sentinel on Thursday.
