"Can someone explain to me why it's taking so long?" Yes...Orsini. All you have to do is ask him...he knows.

"we have serious issues if duke and northern illinois can hire before us"

so if we hire a bozo but it's before or the same
time as duke and southern illinios then we're ok?

it ultimately means that our new hire is a current college coach that wants to coach his team in their bowl game...

"who said were gonna hire a bozo?"

nobody did......thats the point.

the assumption that something is wrong at SMU because Duke
and Southern Illinios have hired coaches is an assumption based
on ignorance.

Finally someone on here who understands. There are some head coaches who want to finish what they started.

Some want to complete the bowl game before leaving due to PR reasons. Most want to complete the bowl before announcing their departure due to a love of BOWL BONU$ MONEY.

If a head coach announces his departure before the bowl, what happens? He feels like he has cheated the kids because it could affect their final performance and he loses money. Who other than Fran wants to do that?

Just wait a few more weeks and it will be easier to understand.
