Not saying he is going, but here we go again.

Michigan's good fortune comes at the expense of West Virginia fans, now reeling from their second crippling blow this month. (And unlikely to be comforted by rumors that native Terry Bowden -- out of coaching since 1998 -- is believed to be Rodriguez's most likely successor). The first was a gut-wrenching Dec. 1 loss to arch-rival Pittsburgh that knocked the Mountaineers out of the BCS title game.

FWIW, ESPN reported that WVU has already been in contact with Terry Bowden.

Now I guess we just sit back and watch all the rumored SMU canditates get jobs elsewhere.

Maybe now, Orsini will see what a mistake he made on Bowden....Way to go

It is not Orsini's fault he could not land Bowden. Terry Bowden has been holding out for a better job than SMU all along. Don't know - but I suspect its the same thing with Neuheisel. Both would probably wait until next year before taking SMU now even if not offered elsewhere. Barnett had a curiosity early on but Orsini failed to capitalize on it - now Barnett is supposedly not interested. You see how this is shaping up.

As I said from day 1 - SMU will get scraps from the table once the other jobs are filled. Orsini has not been able to convice anyone he wants so he is forced to wait until all others are filled. Now SMU recruiting is DOA.

Biggin,

Congratulations, you have now abdicated Stallion's thrown as the most NEGATIVE SOB on here.

WE DIDN'T EVEN CONTACT BOWDEN! HOW CAN YOU SAY HE WASN"T INTERESTED!! I think Orsini just thought like most of you that because other people weren't talking to him something was wrong. Great move by the way. What, is Orsini's strategy: to wait till other colleges show interest in someone and then jump on the band wagon. Because we will never beat out another school in a coach fight. I think it is evident Orsini has failed in what has already transpired with Paul Johnson. For example, if Orsini wanted PJ why did he wait so long to the point where PJ had an opportunity to weigh his options.....Rather, Orsini should have the day after he fired Bennett called Johnson and made the offer (thus making it much harder to turn down). It's all this waiting around crap that is killing us. Orsini, Hire someone now!

gambino, are you part of the famed crime family? if so, why don't you and the other five families use your "influence" to get a coach for mob boss orsini?

We already have....tried to push the following names but Orsini wouldn't listen:

1. Gary Barnett

2. Terry Bowden

we probably "waited around" for Paul Johnson based on his well publicized statement that he would not consider any Coaching offers until after the end of the regular season which is exactly what he did.
