Whatever happened to our Miami model? Wouldn't Coker fit in with that?
I think Orsini has something else already wrapped up. Otherwise there would be a press conference today to announce Coker's hiring.
I remember something about waiting on bowls and NFL playoffs. Why does SMU make everyting so difficult?

I can't imagine SMU selecting Coker. What a terrible choice it would be!!! My gosh!!! They couldn't keep 'em out of the jails during his tenure. All you have to do is look at his time there, listen to the stories from the fans & then run for the hills. They were nothing more than a bunch of hooligans, thugs & dropouts!!!

Miami went 5-7 this year.
Maybe Coker didn't recruit well or maybe the new guy can't coach either.

Navy - Not a single Miami player was in jail during Coker's tenure as HC. And they consistently lead the ACC in academic all-americans. Coker's downfall was his ability to recruit and his coddling of the players. Randy Shannon tells his recruits "I am recruiting you this year, but next year I will recruiting someone to take your job." Coker meanwhile recruited someone and then was afraid to recruit a replacement in case it hurt the current players feelings.
