Perhaps we are getting barraged by all the Coaching stories to shut up all the naysayers and give them something to think about.

Coach Fran has been a backup plan since before he was fired - that is clear.

I even proposed paying him $1 for each of his first 3 years, and taking that savings in hiring mo' bettah peeps as assistants and for equipment (thank you poorly worded aTm buyout contract), then pay him his 2mm in years 4 and 5 (however this would work out).

The Old Coaches:Coker, Fran, Bowden, Barnett, Neuheisel (maybe UCLA) - all will be available...

So the SID is putting out more info to appease the restless SMOOers...nice.

It may be one of the available Old Coaches...it wouldn't be so bad.

I still think Orsini has a few others on his mind.

At this point [given the timeline theory], it makes no sense to hire one of the old coaches. But on the other hand, why not? This search has gone on way too long without much feedback or hope.

It's one thing to put up a smokescreen, but it's another to let the fire get out of control and burn down your house.
