Any truth to the rumor that contact was made with Mike Ditka. Might be an interesting prospect!

For what it's worth:
I was listening to The Ticket today (the station usually annoys me but I am desperate for ponies info) and they had Ditka on today. Ditka was talking about all that goes into coaching a team, how its about character, not just physical ability, etc etc etc. The guys then commented that he sounds like someone who should coach college, and why not take the SMU job? He said that coaching college would be very interesting because he would get to guide young men and teach the value of education.

Too bad Baylor didn't hire Singletary. They do that, we hire Ditka, and all of a sudden people might show up to watch the school play.

Ditka trashed the Saints. But since college football is all about the ability to recruit and not coaching, I support a Ditka hire.

Ditka could get a visit with just about any recruit he wants. I think he would be a great recruiter. Plus he knows how to find talent, but I can't believe he would really want to coach again anywhere....But if he does... How old is he ?
