Out of all the rumors, I am picking this one.

As was rumored a while back out of a team meeting, the coach will not be named until after the kids return to school from Christmas break. This way, I can enjoy my Christmas with my family and not worry about why we have named no one yet. I would suggest that many of you do the same or I am afraid we will lose some to heart attacks. If a coach is named sooner, we can be pleasantly surprised. Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year.

So your saying you feel better thinking the coach will be annouced next year? I'm sorry that would probably make me feel worse. SMU may be the last division I program to hire a coach after being the first to fire their coach

No, what he is saying is that he no longer has expectations of when the coach will be hired, and therefore he cannot be disappointed by the timing. Great philosophy mrydel, did you come up with that yourself?
Hope you and mrs. mrydel have a great holiday season.

I agree with jt. This a great philosophy and I will adopt it as my own.

It was kind of a quasi-subliminal message to you so you could relax. I have noticed you getting a little worked up and perhaps abandoning your own patented system of stress free Mustang enjoyment. Happy Holidays to Mustang Jtstang and Texas Mrs. Jtstang.
And Jason, I hope you are not dead by year end due to stress and strife.

Ingenious. I shall adopt the mrydel system which is the jtstang game system as applied to the coaching search. I feel better already.

I just got back from a long weekend with Mrs. EastStang at a cozy little B&B in Charlottesville, Virginia. We ate great food, slept without an alarm clock, took long romantic hikes, drank some excellent wines, and did some shopping. Didn't think once about the coaching search. I see I didn't miss anything. Merry Christmas to all.

Don't say you didn't miss anything. From your post, it sounds like you missed all the agony we Mustang fans are going through waiting for our new coach.
And, a Merry Christmas back at 'cha.

Well the student body never arrives back until after the 15th of January so you might have a longer wait then you think! The timing will REALLY enhance recruiting for this year.

That was easier to tolerate than the shopping.
