Neuheisel went 33-16 with the Huskies, including four bowl trips and a Rose Bowl title.

As he walked off the field on Sunday afternoon, Neuheisel was greeted by a sign reading "Thanks Rick. 4 Apple Cups. 1 Rose Bowl."

I'd gladly take Slick Rick or June Jones. The Chris Peterson mention, I fear, was nothing more than a pipdream for some posters. Johnes and Neuheisel though - hell yes. Fran would induce vomiting faster than chugging a bottle of bad tequila, but what the hell, if he gets players and wins, we'll all come around pretty quickly.

If he comes to SMU and does win, he will be gone. This guy has had a second and third chance. No need for a forth chance.

Eventually everyone moves on. So at some point the new coach will either die or move on. I guess right now, SMU does need a coach that will turn heads in the good way. Fran. is not a guy that will turn heads in a good way. SO knows that, I think. Actually that could be JJ going away speech. It's time to move on to new challenges etc.etc. This story has a lot of legs. Something is, or was going on. For all the problems of Barnett, a better coach, he is not as sleazy as Fran. Barnett didn't have control of his players. Fran. does not have control of himself.

I like Jones, prefer Barnett, but have no problem with Fran. Fran has taken down and out teams and made them winners and he has the recruiting connections in Texas to get the job done. I am getting tired of being dragged around by these "great" coaches. If Jones wants the job, he needs to step up NOW! We don't need to sit around for another 2 weeks while he makes up his mind. I sure would hate to lose Fran and have to settle for Coker because we are waiting on Jones who ends up staying in Hawaii after they raise enough money to keep him happy!
