I admire you guys

I migrated over here when Paul Johnson was a serious candidate to take the SMU job and when he didn't accept, I figured it'd be a matter of a few days before your AD hired someone new.

That was several weeks ago and even though I have no association to the school, even I'm getting frustrated at the length of the search. I'm impressed by the ability for so many of you to stay positive and the faith you have in Orsini to hire the right man for the job, even if it takes a lot longer than you expected it to. Hopefully all this waiting pays off and you get the "wow" hire you're expecting.

Continued well wishes from Georgia and good luck (even if some of you still refer to D1-AA as DII ;) )

Don't give us too much credit - when you are an SMU fan for any length of time all you have left is faith. Things like hope or expectations go right out the window.

I did say "many of you" and not "all of you" for a reason ;)

I should not be the first to reply to your message. I didn't go to SMU and have only been to Dallas one time. That said, there are reasons to be optimistic. Orsini wants to be ND's AD. SMU has been way too long away from the national scene. SMU has tons of $ and is willing to spend it. Seems they are going to try to get back into big time football. SMU got shafted soooo bad by the NCAA. This is a story in progress. SMU will be all over the national media soon for other reasons. For those that are not SMU alums, Thanks. One last thought. A lot of people think on this board, think the world revolves around Texas and Dallas. There are so many outside of Texas that relate to SMU. Anyway thanks.

Hey man thanks for the kind words. There aren't enough of them floating around this site lately. While I have lost faith in the process by which Orsini is conducting this coaching search, I don't think I've totally lost faith in Orsini getting a quality coach. We'll certainly see.
