Apparently we are pathetic (or interesting?) enough to warrant broadcast on ESPNEWS' National Broadcast. Since the TICKET is absolutely pathetic and unprofessional, I mostly listen to XM Radio's ESPN National broadcast (M&M, Cowherd, Tirico, avoid Stephen A. like the plague, then Gottlieb)... In the car just now, I heard the following:

"Hawaii head football coach June Jones has announced that he is NOT INTERESTED in the same job at the University of Southern Methodist"

when did we change our acronym to USM????

oh, and WHO NOW??

By the way, while I rant: Dear June Jones: you suck. you 'dissed Tebow, who scored 50+ touchdowns in SEC play? "He couldn't run our system" Yeah? well Colt Brennan would get absolutely MURDERED in a half in the SEC. You play a pansy schedule annually, and you are going to get KILLED by Georgia.

For his part, Petrino has said he'll be back to coach the Falcons in 2008, and owner Arthur Blank has indicated that he wants Petrino back.

How long before we get stallion's first post in this thread, that says " I told you so"?

A more interesting aspect to this might be to look at Jones agent Leigh Steinberg. What other coaches does he represent? Is there a little backscratching going on here? I love conspiracy theories. Perhaps, Leigh and Steve cooked up this little "interest" story to get Hawaii off the dime in its Jones negotiations. Who might Leigh be representing that's truly of interest to us? Show us the money!

GUESS I was quite unclear with the major intent of this thread. Prior to posting, I saw that there were already several posts calling out JJ's indication that he was not a candidate here. I was actually just noting the "USM" declaration on ESPN.
