First, to all ponyfans, sunshiners and realists alike, best wishes in the new year. I resolve to get some expectations for SMU athletics in 2008, but then I resolved to lose weight in 2007 so don't bank on it.

Resolutions for the athletic program at SMU should be to get a football coach in 2008, try to land a football recruit, win a school sponsered men's basketball tourney, finally win a soccer national championship, rise up in the Sears cup standings and fall a bit in the graduation rankings, and win a conference equestrian championship (are we even in a conference?).

Ponyfans on both sides of the bar should resolve to chill and watch what unfolds.
