This game has nothing but rout written all over it. In fact, it was written after they announced the matchup.

I love USC's tight end Fred Davis. A beast who can run, move and hit people.

The Trojans depth is ridiculous!
Fight on! 49-17 final.

Illinois had no business being on the same field as USC. the Rose Bowl Selection committee is stupid. Yes, it's traditional to have Big Ten vs. Pac 10, but to pass up #6 Mizzou for #13 Illinois? Come on....
Shame on The Orange Bowl Selection Committee too, taking Kansas over Mizzou. I hope Kansas gets reamed.

Mizzou is no better than Illinois. In fact, they played this season, it was an even matchup. Mizzou won it on a freak play and even still Illinois had 1st and goal with 1 minute left to win and freshman qb throws braindead pick. Mizzou would have been equally outmatched as would just about anybody in LA.

I think Mizzou would have gone to the Orange to play Va. Tech. But it would have been a matter of how the rantings broke down and who was penciled in to go where. Don't think Mizzou, though, would have gone to the Rose Bowl.

i just wanted to see a better game. I didn't say Mizzou was necessarily better than Illinois, but I think it would have been a better game

i say you have to give the Illini credit...it just goes to show that turnovers will be the death of you in big games...
if you take away two of those fumbles, it could have been a 3 pt. Illini lead
