I would assume that 3 days means today and then Thursday and Friday. We may not have a press conference until Monday but I would assume that we'd have some kind of confirmation by the end of the day on Friday.

Mark Norris wouldn't publish it if it didn't come from either Turner's mouth or Orsini's mouth. He's a pretty reliable person from my dealings with him.

I agree. I was thinking that we had JJ in the bag and were just waiting to announce. If he is only now being asked to make up his mind I would be very pessimistic.

However, the realist in me says that SO would not have waited this long without a serious indication that JJ would come. I understand that JJ might wait to see what else is going to come up but if some other school, not UH snags him we are really going to look terrible. I don't believe that JJ has not talked about SMU with LS, there is no way SO would be out on a limb like this unless the deal is close.

Why does this feel like Paul Johnson again? Its an agent doing his job for his client. Taking the SMU job immediately after the Sugar Bowl would be in bad taste. They are going to give Hawaii the courtesy of an opportunity to get in SMU's ballpark and also give other potential teams considering June Jones a chance to get their offers on the table. This is a good timeline and we lose NOTHING by seeing how this plays out until the weekend. Relax.

But I do not know that. I am just on an email list and was only passing on the info. No information that comes from me is from any reliable source. My wife reminds me of that daily.

I'm totally relaxed about the situation. Personally I hope that JJ does go somewhere else or my personal opinion that he's stays @ home @ UH. I just don't think he's a fit here.

I'm fine with the backup choices. I just wish in addition to Fran that Bowden & Barnett were being considered.

However, I can't imagine anyone not thinking about this looking like the PJ situation. Almost a carbon copy IMO.
