Coach B. was his usual self: classy and right on point! Very personable! Unfortunately, the two goofball anchors didn't really ask any questions that those of us here on this board don't already know. Coach B. did say that he'd like to see Texas A&M get on our home pre-conference schedule within the next couple of years.

OK, I'm no court reporter, so this isn't word-for-word, but I had the laptop going. Here's a basic rundown of what Coach Bennett had to say.

(On higher expectations in 2003)
"I always tell people .... I had a gentleman come up to me during spring workouts and he said 'Coach, it looks much better this year.' I told him "Yes it does — I know their names now.' But really, I'm more comforetable, the players are more comfortable, the coaches are more comfortable, now that we're a year into it."

(On whether Keylon Kincade will again lead the nation in carries)
What we'd like to do is become more multiple on offense. It's obvious we have to throw the ball more. Everyone in the stadium knew he was going to carry it, and he still averaged 4.4 yards per carry."

(On Fox Sports's proposed feature/special on Jerry LeVias)
"The thing that sticks out in my mind .... I was growing up in Marshall, Texas, when that happened. I think it's such a great tribute to SMU and to Hayden Fry that they had the foresight to say 'we’re missing the boat here.' Jerry had such a great career at SMU. I like the fact that it was our program that got it started."

(On mentor/Kansas State coach Bill Snyder)
"I've told many peopple - he (Snyder) is the best in business. I saw where Terence Newman had an interesting quote. He said 'I look at Bill Parcells and I see Bill Snyder.' But really, he's as good as there is."

(On starting the season with three Big 12 opponents)
"Our first home game is against Oklahoma State. You know, if we win those first three, they (the Big 12) ought to give us - if not a ring - a half a trophy or something. Texas Tech, Baylor, Oklahoma State — that's half the Big 12 South there. And we'd like to get Texas A&M on the schedule sometime."

Coach Bennett also talked about how the synthetic "A-turf" is complete, and how 350 campers took part in the first practice on the turf, and said there's a chance turf might be put in on the practice fields, as well.

I've heard Bennett at other times (If my memeory servers me) mention a higher average for KK thant his official stats. Again in this show he mentioned 4.4. Anyone know where that comes from?
