If Jones doesn't accept tomorrow, the odds

go down dramatically. Why would we let this leak unless it was a done deal? Talk about being on a highwire without a net. I like the idea of Jones for a lot of reasons, but would have rather had a few others. Gary Barnett as a proven program builder or Turner Gill as a young energetic recruiter. Is it too late to throw a million at Gill, let him hire some top dollar assistants with the extra cash raised and go kick some [deleted] on the recruiting trail? Thats the strategy that should have been implemented 5 weeks ago.

Fine by me, only 5 weeks late and a recruiting season lost. I just don't think Fran will mesh with the SMUers.

Gary Barnett is an SOB with alot of baggage, something we dont need. Agreed. It will be Fran if not Jones.

I don't know about the baggage part, but the SOB part makes him a perfect fit.
