Did anybody see this on ESPN.com? Would be an interesting hire.

SMU may have a backup strategy, however. ESPN.com's John Clayton reports that the school has contacted Mike Martz, who was fired as offensive coordinator of the Detroit Lions on Wednesday.

Recruiting...we don't need no stinkin' recruiting. Sign of a poor Coaching search-considering apparently numerous candidates without a strong recruiting resume. That is Consideration No. 1 at most strong programs.
