Unbelievable...what are the chances, if we get a "wow" hire, that our new coach will be able to get some prospects to decommit elsewhere and come to SMU before signing day?

Maybe June Jones can bring Steve Christianson over with him.

Maybe the Mob Boss orchestrated this one to put more pressure on JJ.

SO: "Hey JJ, remember that 72 hours I gave you? Make that 48. You're losing the few players we have for you as we speak. By the way, I want you back on the mainland and out on the recruiting trail for the limited contact period this weekend. Oh yeah, I contacted Mike Martz and Gary Patterson yestereday too."

Not chicken littles. Anybody who is involved in college football knows that recruiting is a full time gig. It is for the good programs anyway. So, it's going to hurt bad this year with a reduced class at best. But, if the coach selected is a good recruiter, then long haul, this will all balance out. The hope would have been to hire a good coach who was a good recruiter right near the end of the season.
