Was Mariucci ever even approached?

i know this guys's name has been discussed
before on here but does anyone know if he was contacted
by SMU? whatta ya got to lose by asking?

I would fear that being around the likes of Deion Sanders, Chris Collinsworth, and Bryant Gumble at his gig at the NFL Network may have sucked all the football intelligence right out of him!

Read about a month ago that he had been contacted. I guess it didn't go anywhere. Got into the UCLA mix. Then no news.

I'd vote for him, even over Jones (who is my favorite among the allegedly "legit" candidates).
