Credible reporter has told me that JJ "is gone" but has not specified where he will end up.

It appears that the competition may be an NFL team but I do not see how that could work if we plan to announce Monday.

Source confirms JJ "gone" to SMU, not NFL.

There's probably a backup plan (another coach) waiting in the wings.

I so wish this were serious. And I wish that your source was that big guy from the New Orleans interview. I would love to have a beer with that guy. Although, it would be prudent to be between him and the exit in case the food ran out.

Source confirmed. Still no HARD confirmation of an agreement though.

Trying not to get too excited. This is SMU after all.

Once again - I preface this by saying I am serious...

Aren't we fortunate it will be in the 70s this weekend?

When you are trying to lure somebody from Hawai`i it's not a good idea to have rain, wind, and temps in the 30s...

Just another little sign that this is going to happen.

SMU FOOTBALL IS BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So true. Especially given that Hawaii has been pretty rainy lately, with temps in the 70s. Sunshine is a good omen I hope.

I hope that means academic standards are changing significantly...doubt if JJ would come if we didnt make concessions there.
