If you are wondering about JJ and the Sugar Bowl line-up, where there was 4 WR's and 1 RB. There was no tight-ends. In fact,The roster shows that there is NO Tight-Ends on that team. So I am wondering if JJ is another Bennett that does not know How and What to do with TE"s?

No, it's reflective of the offense that JJ runs. His offense is not a "spread" offense that was run under Burns, but it's the old "Run and Shoot" which puts out 4 WRs and no TE. I guess we'll need start putting QBs at the slot WR positions now.

Even though he didn't use them at Hawaii, he did when he was in the NFL so if he has too, he can use the TE.
Question is why does it matter if we use or don't the TE? Is Chase really good enough to get us upset about this?

It matters to the person asking the question, it's her family.

I think she's the Chase's grandmother...sweet lady and SMU fan. I would think he'd find some way to use TEs since we've got some talent there and so many on the roster.

Maybe he just felt he couldn't get an athletic enough TE to play at Hawai'i, so he didn't recruit them. Could be that he figured his best chance to win was to spread the field and get guys who are quick and can run after the catch. He might be tempted to alter the offense based on the talent he's got. Either way, I'm not worried. He'll be a definite upgrade.

No need to worry. The TE's we have are goog enough to play in the spread/run and shoot/west coast offense. Several west coast offenses in the pros use a TE split out or in the slot. Plus, we don't have enough good wideouts or OL, so our TE will play a valuable roll in our offense.

Well let's put it this way. Why would LSU and Florida Coach's come to see Vincent and family? They wanted him to sign with them . They must of seen something good about him. Read his profile. and see how many championship teams wanted him.
I have said time and time again in any sport that Talent has to be
Culivated and Utilized. I expect that for all of the members of our football team, just not only Vincent. They deserve the best training that can be given to them and nothing less. It takes all the team to be winners. If Kansas Coach could take his team to a bowl, so can SMU.

Vincent has been misused in this offense due to not having enough good blocking OL. Hopefully JJ will change that with the spread that he runs. Vincent should get 3-4 catches a game. He better get in shape and shed 10-15 lbs or he will be blocking for sure. He is around 270 now. That is bigger than most of our OL.

Just look what Mizzou has done with their TE's. I dont think you have a thing to worry about. This will simply make his pass catching ability that much better. At the next level they are a lot more concerned about that than blocking ability...and he already has that.

He doesn't use TEs -Got It. Vincent Chase is now an OT.
